I’ve always planned on filling it in with fiberglass and doing it properly. I’ve spent years trying to figure something out, I’ve tried numerous things and nothing stuck. I replaced it with a power antenna, which didn’t work well and was way too heavy. I tried a little black cell type antenna and it looked dumb. For the past 10 years I’ve had the original, I just cut the top off. It was way too long. Finally! I feel stupid for not thinking about this before. I swear I tried this already. Either way, it’s a little too big but way better than the antenna. It cost $5. I also got to ditch the antenna cable, which is thick and cumbersome. In keeping with everything else, the old cable had numerous “hidden” chunks taken out of it. I could see bare wire in multiple places. So safe.

I’ve hated the way the radio antenna looks on this car since day one.
